Kybella® injections have been approved by the FDA as a non-surgical treatment option to reduce small fat deposits under the chin. Kybella contains deoxycholic acid, which is found naturally in the body. KYBELLA® destroys fat cells when injected into areas of excess fat under the chin and upper neck. When fat cells are removed, they will not likely reappear. Most patients need at least two treatments to achieve the best results, and the results can be permanent.
KYBELLA® procedures typically take an hour. The recovery time is usually minimal after treatment with KYBELLA®. In fact, most people can resume normal daily routines within 24 to 48 hours.
Kybella Treatment Process
Pre-Injection
Post-consultation, after you and Sherisse have determined the suitability of injectables for your beauty goals. The targeted areas will be numbed using a topical anesthetic or ice pack. While you are numbing, Sherisse takes the time to prep for the injection and educate you on the injection process, ensuring you are well-informed every step of the way. Your journey to radiance is a collaborative effort, marked by thorough consultation and expert care.
Injection
During the injection, Sherisse skillfully administers filler under the skin, ensuring minimal sensation, often described as a gentle pinch. Our dermal filler and volumizer treatment sessions, typically take 15 minutes or more. Following the filler injection, you may experience mild discomfort, redness, and swelling at the injection site. Any swelling is usually minor, allowing you to comfortably resume your normal social activities.
Post-Injection
Following your injectable treatment, minimal downtime is anticipated, although some individuals may experience mild bruising or localized side effects. You can confidently resume your regular daily activities immediately after your facial filler procedure. However, for the first 24 hours, we recommend refraining from workouts, applying makeup, receiving massages, taking NSAIDs, or consuming alcohol.

What is Kybella®?
KYBELLA® (deoxycholic acid) injection is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment that is used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called, “double chin.” It is not known if KYBELLA® is safe and effective in children less than 18 years of age. It is not known if KYBELLA® is safe and effective for use outside of the submental area.
How does Kybella® work?
The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, KYBELLA® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.
Is Kybella® right for me?
Only you and your doctor can decide if KYBELLA® is right for you. If you’re bothered by submental fullness, or double chin, unwanted pockets of fat in the arms, upper back, love handles and stomach ask your provider if these areas are appropriate to treat.

KYBELLA® has been the focus of a global clinical development program involving over 20 clinical studies with more than 2,600 patients worldwide, of which over 1,600 have been treated with KYBELLA®.
Will I experience any side effects?
The safety profile of KYBELLA® is well characterized. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and areas of hardness around the treatment area. KYBELLA® can cause serious side effects, including trouble swallowing and nerve injury in the jaw that can cause an uneven smile or facial muscle weakness. These are not all of the possible side effects of KYBELLA®. Call your healthcare provider for medical advice about side effects.
How many treatments will I need?
Many patients experience visible results in 2 to 4 treatment sessions. During these sessions, your provider will administer KYBELLA® into the fat under your chin using multiple injections. Up to 6 treatment sessions may be administered spaced no less than one month apart.
How long will the results last?
When injected into the fat under your chin, KYBELLA® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. After the aesthetic response is achieved, retreatment with KYBELLA® is not expected.
