Radiesse

Radiesse® is a collagen-stimulating dermal filler that works to plump, firm, and rejuvenate aging skin. At SHADe in Issaquah, Radiesse® treatments are frequently performed by Sherisse Hill, RN, MSN, ARNP, FNP(C), to refresh the facial appearance, give the backs of the hands a more youthful look, and non-surgically lift the buttocks.

Sherisse’s top-tier training with world-renowned aesthetics experts and her extensive professional experience allow her to provide exceptional, natural-looking enhancement with Radiesse®.

What Is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is composed of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier of sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Restylane® and Juvederm®, Radiesse® stimulates collagen production for ongoing improvements in skin quality and firmness, as well as immediately adding volume to restore more youthful contours.

Radiesse® was first FDA-approved in 2006 for treating folds and wrinkles in the face, and over six million procedures have been performed since. In 2015, Radiesse® received FDA-approval for treating volume loss in the backs of the hands.

In addition to rejuvenating the hands and face, Sherisse can also use Radiesse® to sculpt the buttocks. A Radiesse® butt lift can create perkier, firmer buttock contours over the course of a series of treatments and can be a good option for patients seeking a minor-to-moderate volume increase in the area.

Additional Radiesse® Info

How Radiesse® Works

Radiesse® provides immediate lifting and firming by replacing lost volume in the treated areas. However, its effects do not stop there – they continue over the next three months as the CaHA particles work to trigger collagen formation in the treated area. Increased collagen production promotes smoothing, tightening, and subtle lifting effects.

One unique property of Radiesse® is that it can be hyper-diluted and used primarily as a skin rejuvenator. When the procedure is performed this way, more pronounced improvements in skin quality and appearance can be achieved.

What to Expect After a Radiesse® Treatment

Radiesse® lasts anywhere from six to 18 months. Everyone breaks it down a bit differently. Most patients plan to come in once per year for a maintenance treatment. Many times, fewer syringes are used at that time because some product remains.

Sherisse will perform your Radiesse® injections in one of SHADe’s private treatment rooms. A topical numbing cream can be applied at the start of your appointment to prevent discomfort during the injections, though many patients do not find this necessary.

Sherisse will locate the optimal sites for your injections and will then use a thin needle to inject small amounts of Radiesse®, as needed, to achieve your desired outcome. After the injections, she may massage the treated area to evenly disperse the filler, ensuring smooth, natural-looking results.
